Product Overview
The foundation of the MRCT's durability is its G90 galvanized steel cabinet, featuring 0.90 oz/ft² of zinc coating—significantly heavier than the G60 coating used in standard commercial HVAC equipment. This thicker zinc layer provides a sacrificial barrier that protects the underlying steel from rust and corrosion, even when the surface is scratched or damaged.
Every MRCT unit undergoes 500 hours of salt spray testing per ASTM B117 standards before leaving the factory, far exceeding the 200-300 hour testing common in the industry. This rigorous validation confirms the unit's ability to withstand salt-laden air, acidic atmospheres near chemical processing plants, and polluted urban environments.
For extreme environments, Midea offers an optional factory-applied epoxy coating system that provides an additional impermeable barrier. This multi-layer coating system is applied in a controlled factory setting, ensuring consistent thickness, adhesion, and coverage superior to field-applied alternatives.
