Product Description
AirBoost IPLV 5.0+ Air Cooled Screw Chiller
Engineered for extreme climate applications where standard air-cooled platforms fall short. Delivers reliable cooling for data centers, pharmaceutical plants, and district cooling stations in the world's most demanding environments.
Product Overview
The Midea AirBoost Air Cooled Screw Chiller addresses the most challenging cooling applications worldwide. From tropical data centers requiring year-round uninterrupted cooling to pharmaceutical plants in desert climates facing 52°C summer peaks, this platform delivers exceptional performance without requiring condenser water infrastructure.
Featuring a variable-frequency screw compressor with 0.1 Hz precision control, the AirBoost continuously matches motor speed to actual thermal demand, eliminating energy waste common in fixed-speed systems. With IPLV ratings exceeding 5.0 per AHRI 551/591 and operation from -25°C to 52°C, this single platform serves diverse climate zones without thermal derating.
Key Features
Variable-Frequency Screw Compressor
Precision 0.1 Hz control eliminates hot-gas bypass waste and delivers IPLV ratings above 5.0, representing 30-40% lower annual energy consumption compared to fixed-speed alternatives.
  • 0.1 Hz frequency resolution for precise motor-speed matching
  • Eliminates 15-25% energy waste from hot-gas bypass
  • Zero starting inrush current with smooth VFD ramp-up
  • Maintains tight water temperature stability for process-critical applications
Triple Free-Cooling Architecture
Three distinct free-cooling configurations maximize energy savings in favorable climate conditions.
  • Direct free cooling with zero compressor energy
  • Indirect free cooling with plate heat exchanger isolation
  • Mixed mode blending for transitional weather conditions
  • 2,000-4,000 hours of compressor-free operation annually
Extreme Climate Operation
T3 certification combined with -25°C to 52°C operating envelope ensures reliable performance in the world's most challenging environments.
  • Full cooling capacity maintained at 52°C ambient
  • Validated operation at -25°C for winter requirements
  • 60 Hz configuration for global power grid compatibility
  • Single specification serves multiple climate zones
Mission-Critical Rapid Recovery
Restores full setpoint within 60 seconds of power interruption, protecting sensitive applications from temperature excursions.
Low-GWP Refrigerant Options
R513A refrigerant option with 60% lower GWP than R134a, ensuring compliance with evolving environmental regulations.
Modular Parallel Architecture
Up to 8 units in parallel for plant capacities to 11,600 kW with optional acoustic management for noise-sensitive installations.
